Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To further exactly estimate self-ignition timing at ignition assist self-ignition combustion.SOLUTION: Main fuel for forming a premixed gas in a cylinder is injected by a fuel injection valve, next, assist fuel is injected into the cylinder, the assist fuel is ignited by a spark plug, and after that, ignition assist self-ignition combustion at which the premixed gas is compressively self-ignition combusted is performed. A heat generation rate ROHR with respect to a crank angle is calculated on the basis of in-cylinder pressure. In a crank angle range RCA which is set closer to a retardation side than a maximum heat generation rate crank angle CAmax, a crank angle at which the heat generation rate becomes maximum, an approximation formula APL in which the heat generation rate is made to approximate by a linear line is determined, and a zero heat generation rate crank angle CA0, a crank angle at which the heat generation rate becomes zero in the approximation formula, is determined. A difference dif between the maximum heat generation rate crank angle and the zero heat generation rate crank angle is calculated. A crank angle which is advanced by the difference from the maximum heat generation rate crank angle is estimated as self-ignition timing CAig.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 9
