Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily start an internal combustion engine in an internal combustion engine starting mechanism which uses an external starting device.SOLUTION: In an internal combustion engine starting mechanism configured to start an engine 11 by driving a crankshaft 20 from the outside of the engine 11 while using an external starting device that is not mounted on a vehicle, the engine 11 comprises: a primary drive gear 40 that is provided on the crankshaft 20; and a clutch input member 51 that is directly meshed with the primary drive gear 40. The clutch input member 51 is provided accessible from the outside of the engine 11, and the clutch input member 51 includes gear teeth 77 with which a starter output shaft 75c of the external starting device that rotates the clutch input member 51 is engaged.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
