Title:
INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE SYSTEM HAVING HYDROGEN GENERATING FUNCTION
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2005299502
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To effectively utilize fuel containing organic hydride as a raw material of hydrogen, in regard to an internal combustion engine system having a hydrogen generating function.

Catalyst 22 is heated by the exhaust heat of an internal combustion engine 2, and fuel containing organic hydride is supplied to the heated catalyst 22. When temperature of the catalyst 22 rises to a temperature area, in which steam reforming reaction of the fuel is possible, water is supplied to the catalyst 22 in addition to the fuel. With this structure, steam reforming reaction of paraffin group hydrocarbon contained in the fuel is generated on the catalyst 22, in addition to dehydrogenating reaction of the organic hydride contained in the fuel.
