To achieve high efficiency and low emission while using hydrogenated fuel as fuel for an internal combustion engine, in regard to the hydrogen-using internal combustion engine having a function to separate the hydrogenated fuel into hydrogen and dehydrogenated fuel.
A control means for performing compressed self-ignition diffusion combustion by using hydrogenated fuel as fuel is provided. Preferably, when the internal combustion engine is operated in a predetermined operating region, compressed self-ignition diffusion combustion by using hydrogenated fuel as fuel is performed, and when the internal combustion engine is operated in a region with lower load compared to the predetermined operating region, spark ignition combustion by using dehydrogenated fuel and hydrogen as fuel is performed.
