Abstract:
To suppress the generation of early ignition.SOLUTION: A cylinder head (3) is formed with an auxiliary chamber (12) surrounded by a thin-wall auxiliary chamber wall (11) projecting out from an inner wall surface of the cylinder head (3) into a main combustion chamber (5). An electrode of an ignition plug (15) is disposed in the auxiliary chamber (12), and when a mixture in the auxiliary chamber (12) is burned by the ignition plug (15), jet flames blowing out from a communication hole (13) to the main combustion chamber (5). The thin-wall auxiliary chamber wall (11) is formed in a two-layer structure of an outer wall (11a) facing the main combustion chamber (5) and an inner wall (11b) facing the auxiliary chamber (12). The inner wall (11b) is formed by material with a higher heat conductivity than that of the outer wall (11a).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
