Abstract:
To provide a structure capable of smoothly jetting flame to an optimum direction from an auxiliary combustion chamber, in an internal combustion engine with the auxiliary combustion chamber.SOLUTION: An auxiliary combustion chamber 13 is disposed in a recessed portion 5 of a cylinder head 3 concentrically with a cylinder bore shaft center O1, and a center electrode 16 and an earth electrode 17 of an ignition plug 15 are exposed inside of the auxiliary combustion chamber 13. At least a lower half portion of an inner surface of the auxiliary combustion chamber 13 is composed of a concave spherical surface, and a center of a discharge gap 18 of the ignition plug 15 is positioned on a center of the auxiliary combustion chamber 13. A shaft center O3 of a flame injection hole 19 passes through a center of the discharge gap 18 (center of auxiliary combustion chamber 13). Flame generated in the auxiliary combustion chamber 13 smoothly flows into the flame injection hole 19 while keeping straightness without direction conversion, and is jetted to the shaft center O3 direction of the flame injection hole 19.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
