Abstract:
To significantly suppress heat loss by reducing the amount of flame directed toward a piston from a sub-flame injection hole while improving scavenging property/air-fuel mixture inflow property by forming the downward sub-frame injection hole on an auxiliary combustion chamber.SOLUTION: An auxiliary combustion chamber 13 is provided with a main flame injection hole 14 opened in a direction crossing a cylinder bore shaft center O, and an auxiliary flame injection hole 15 opened in the direction of the cylinder bore shaft center O. An earth electrode 19 of an ignition plug 17 is provided with a partitioning portion 19b for vertically dividing the inside of the auxiliary combustion chamber 13 at a lower part of the main flame injection hole 14. An upper space 20 and a lower space 21 are communicated to each other. Most of a combustion gas generated by discharging of the ignition plug 17 is jetted from the main flame injection hole 14 to a main combustion chamber, and only weak flame is jetted from the auxiliary flame injection hole 15.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
