The concentration of a predetermined ingredient in the gas sucked into the cylinder 10 from the region 2 is made thicker than the concentration of the predetermined ingredient in the gas sucked into the cylinder 10 from the region 3 and the gas sucked into the cylinder 10 from a swirl downstream side suction port 18, and thereby a degree of stratification regarding the predetermined ingredient in the gas in the combustion chamber can be improved in the terminal stage of the compression stroke.
