Abstract:
To provide an internal combustion engine that can be manufactured in a flexible form.
The internal combustion engine 2 includes combustion chambers 46, 48, and an engine housing 4 having pistons 50, 52, 58, 60 that travel in the combustion chamber along a path of movement delimited between an upper dead center position and a lower dead center position. The engine housing 4 includes a first housing part and a second housing part, the first housing part and the second housing part delimiting parts of the combustion chambers 46, 48, abutting each other, and defining a parting plane, the parting plane being arranged parallel to the path of movement of the pistons 50, 52, 58, 60.
