Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a rotation sensor attached to a chain cover from being affected by heat of an oil with a simple structure in an internal combustion engine where an oil pump is integrally provided with the chain cover.SOLUTION: A pump cover 13 is fixed to an inner surface of a chain cover 5, and a ventilation space S, which opens toward a timing chain 16, is formed by the pump cover 13. A rotation sensor 42 is attached to a neighbor area of an outer surface of a portion in the chain cover 5 which is located close to the ventilation space S. Air of the ventilation space S is ventilated by the timing chain 16 thereby improving heat radiation performance of an attachment part 47 of the rotation sensor 42 and preventing the rotation sensor 42 from being subject to heat damage.
