Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid a problem resulting from the supercharging of a VVT device in a state where the VVT device is failed.SOLUTION: The control of the opening/closing timing of a valve by a VVT device is performed on the basis of an engine rotation number, a load (intake negative pressure) or the like. Then, when the VVT device is failed, and a rotation phase of an intake valve or an exhaust valve is fixed in a certain state, supercharging is prohibited or suppressed even in a supercharging region. By this constitution, the damage of a catalyst caused by the generation of knocking by abnormal combustion and an abnormal rise of a temperature of an exhaust gas, or a problem of the blow-out of fuel resulting from the spread of an overlap state where both the intake valve and the exhaust valve are opened can be avoided.
