Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent displacement and bending deformation of a water pump caused by pulling of an auxiliary driving belt, in an internal combustion engine in which the water pump driven by the auxiliary driving belt is fixed to one side face of a cylinder block by a bolt.SOLUTION: A water pump 11 has a pump housing 26 and a cover housing 28, and the pump housing 26 is fixed to one side face 1b of a cylinder block 1 by a bolt. The pump housing 26 protrudes from one end face 1a of the cylinder block 1, and the cover housing 28 is fixed to its opening end by a bolt 27. A collar 40 inserted to a part of the pump housing 26 and a chain case 6 are co-fastened to the cylinder block 1 by a bolt 42. Application of downward force to the pump housing 26 from the auxiliary driving belt 10 can be prevented by the collar 40 and the bolt 42.
