Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an internal combustion engine capable of optimizing a position of a cooling water passage formed at a cylinder block and the cooling water passage can be easily machined at a cylinder head.SOLUTION: A cooling water passage of an engine has a cooling water discharging hole 18 spaced apart upwardly in respect to a main gallery 11 and opened at an outer wall surface 3a of a cylinder block 3 and a guide groove 23 enclosed by salients 22 extending upward and downward of the engine and protruded from the outer wall surface 3a of the cylinder block 3 and communicated with the cooling water discharging hole 18, the end part 23a of the guide groove 23 is extended from the cooling water discharging hole 18 in a direction crossing at a right angle with an arranging direction of the cylinder in respect to the main gallery 11 up to its overlapped position and the end part 23a of the guide groove 23 is communicated with the cooling water passage of an oil cooler.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 8
