Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a four-stroke internal combustion engine capable of suppressing fluctuation of output torque.SOLUTION: A four-stroke internal combustion engine 1 in which movement of one time between dead points of a piston 2 is regarded as one stroke, and continuous four strokes are successively assigned to an intake stroke, a compression stroke, an expansion stroke and an exhaust stroke, includes a crank shaft 3 rotated by 1/2 in the movement of one stroke of the piston 2, an idler shaft 4, an output shaft 5, and a phase conversion mechanism 7 disposed between the crank shaft 3 and the idler shaft 4, and between the idler shaft 4 and the output shaft 5, and rotating the crank shaft 3 and the output shaft 5 through the idler shaft 4 in an interlocked manner while changing an angle phase of the output shaft 5 from start to termination of one stroke among continuous four strokes. The angle phase of the output shaft 5 in the expansion stroke is larger than angle phases of the output shaft 5 of any of the strokes excluding the expansion stroke by the phase conversion mechanism 7.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
