Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an internal combustion engine capable of disposing an exhaust static tube, a turbocharger, and an air cooler around an engine body compactly while suppressing pressure loss in an exhaust introduction tube and an intake introduction tube.SOLUTION: An internal combustion engine 1 according to one embodiment of the present invention comprises: an engine body 2; an exhaust static tube 3; a first turbocharger 4 which is driven by exhaust gas supplied from the exhaust static tube 3; a first exhaust introduction tube 5 which connects one axial end surface 3a of the exhaust static tube 3 to a turbine housing 44 of the first turbocharger 4; an air cooler 6 which cools supplied air; and a first intake introduction tube 7 which has an enlarged section 71 the flow passage cross-section of which is enlarged from a compressor housing 45 of the first turbocharger 4 to the air cooler 6. If an area opposite to a side on which the exhaust static tube 3 is located across a first line L1 is defined as a first area A1, then the first turbocharger 4 is disposed in the first area A1 and the air cooler 6 is disposed in an area other than the first area A1.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
