Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To assure a start by extremely reducing resistance at the start, in an internal combustion engine having an ISG.SOLUTION: When rotating a crankshaft by using a starter motor, there arises a state that a drive pulley of an ISG and an auxiliary drive belt are slid by lowering the tension of the auxiliary drive belt which drives the ISG. When the crankshaft reaches a prescribed rotation number (idling rotation number), the auxiliary drive belt is tensed by a tensioner, and the power of the auxiliary drive belt is transmitted to the ISG. Since the ISG does become resistance in terms of cranking by the starter motor, startability can be assured. By driving the ISG as a motor in a state that the auxiliary drive belt is not tensed yet or has been tensed already, the resistance of the ISG is further reduced, and the power can be smoothly transmitted.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
