Abstract:
To weaken reverse-directional revolution airflow occurring in a combustion chamber of a cylinder to intensify in-cylinder flow, regardless of an operational condition of an internal combustion engine.SOLUTION: An internal combustion engine is configured such that suctioned air is split in a process where the suctioned air flows into a combustion chamber of a cylinder through a suction port, then one becomes a desired normal-directional revolution airflow in the combustion chamber, and the other one becomes a revolution airflow reverse thereto in the combustion chamber, wherein at a portion adjacent to flow as the reverse-directional revolution airflow, provided is a plasma actuator configured to generate airflow in a direction of cancelling or weakening the flow.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6
