Abstract:
To provide an internal combustion engine capable of suppressing damage on an inner cylindrical surface of a cylinder, and also reducing consumption of blow-by gas and oil.SOLUTION: An internal combustion engine 10 comprises a cylinder 11, a piston 12, a ring groove 16 and a piston ring 17, wherein in the ring groove 16 and the piston ring 17, a constraint mechanism 20 is provided for constraining an abutment 18 within a predetermined angle range in a circumferential direction with a y1 direction as a center. The internal combustion engine is configured to, when the piston 12 is pushed against a y1 direction side inner cylindrical surface 11a of the cylinder 11 by the constraint mechanism 20, close the abutment 18 with the piston 12 and avoid damage of the inner cylindrical surface 11a due to a corner of the abutment 18.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
