Abstract:
To provide an internal combustion engine capable of reducing its manufacturing cost and size by simplifying a lubrication system in a crankcase.SOLUTION: The engine includes a crankcase, a cylinder, a crankshaft, a balancer mechanism provided in the crankcase for reducing the vibration of the engine with power transmitted from the crankshaft, a breather chamber provided above the crankcase, and a lubrication system 91 provided in the crankcase for supplying lubricating oil to the crankshaft and the balancer mechanism, the balancer mechanism having an idler gear 83, and a first balancer 85 to be rotated with power transmitted from the idler gear 83, and the lubrication system 91 having a main gallery 98, and a balancer lubricating oil passage 126 branching from the main gallery 98, crossing the breather chamber, and reaching the first balancer 85.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6
