Abstract:
To cope with both NOx emission reduction and prevention of knocking of an internal combustion engine.SOLUTION: A two-stroke cross head internal combustion diesel engine 101 having a plurality of cylinders 102 is configured to inject a primary fuel and a secondary fuel into each of the plurality of cylinders. The primary fuel contains fuel oil and water. The secondary fuel contains fuel oil. The two-stroke cross head internal combustion diesel engine is configured to ignite with a combination of the primary fuel and the secondary fuel due to the high heat reached by the compression of gas in the cylinder. The mass percentage of water in the primary fuel is at least 30%, the mass percentage of fuel oil in the secondary fuel is higher than the mass percentage of fuel oil in the primary fuel.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
