Abstract:
To secure tumbling required for lean combustion while suppressing the blowback of intake causing knocking, to improve a fuel consumption rate.SOLUTION: An internal combustion engine is an in-cylinder direct-injection spark-ignition internal combustion engine that performs lean combustion while supercharging. Intake valve closing timing is set near a bottom dead center of intake, and the blowback of intake is suppressed even at a high compression ratio. A double-link piston crank mechanism sets a peak piston speed in an intake stroke at a position later than ATDC 90°. An intake valve has a configuration in which a head part swings freely with respect to a stem part, and tumbling in the latter half of the intake stroke is strengthened in combination with the position of the peak of the piston speed.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
