Abstract:

To suppress pressure fluctuation of a secondary air introduction device when a one-way valve is opened in an internal combustion engine.SOLUTION: An internal combustion engine 1 includes: an exhaust pipe 51; and a secondary air introduction device 60 that has a first end 62 with a suction port 61 and a second end 63 connected to the exhaust pipe and introduces secondary air to the exhaust pipe. The secondary air introduction device includes a one-way valve 67 allowing a flow of secondary air from the first end to the second end and prohibiting a flow in the reverse direction. The one-way valve includes a valve case 83 and a valve element 84 disposed in the valve case. The valve element partitions a space in the valve case into a first chamber 85 disposed on the first end side and a second chamber 86 disposed on the second end side. A volume of the second chamber is larger than that of the first chamber.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 10
