To increase hydrogen content of reformed fuel and induce formation reaction of reformed fuel without accompanied by fuel combustion in an internal combustion engine using the reformed fuel.
Raw material liquid containing carbon hydride fuel and water is supplied to a heating evaporation part 36 formed in a cylinder block 26 around a combustion chamber 14 and the raw material liquid is evaporated by heat of the combustion chamber in an internal combustion engine. Evaporated fuel is introduced to a reforming part 50 provided near an exhaust gas flow path and is subjected to reforming reaction to provide reformed fuel. The reformed fuel is injected to an intake port 20 from an injection nozzle 60 by expansion by evaporation of raw material liquid. Since reformed fuel is provided by reaction of carbon hydride fuel and water, content of nitrogen is limited. Also, since reaction proceeds by exhaust heat, it is not necessary to burn fuel for reformation.
