Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an internal combustion engine configured to improve thermal efficiency while restraining occurrence of abnormal combustion.SOLUTION: An internal combustion engine executes abnormal combustion restraining control of lowering the machine compression ratio and advancing the ignition timing after delaying the ignition timing until the abnormal combustion is stopped in the case abnormal combustion is generated in at least a part of a cylinder. The abnormal combustion restraining control includes also control of advancing the ignition timing so that the advancing amount of the ignition timing of the cylinder without the abnormal combustion generated is larger than the advancing amount of the ignition timing of the cylinder with generation of the abnormal combustion. Furthermore, it also includes control of advancing the valve closing timing of an intake valve and lowering supercharge pressure in the case the pressure of the air supplied to the combustion chamber is larger than a predetermined pressure judgement amount.
