Title:
Internal-combustion engine
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP6100201
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:
An internal combustion engine (10) comprises a chamber (12), inlet valving (24, 26) operable to admit constituents of a combustible mixture into the chamber for combustion therein to provide a pressure increase in the chamber, outlet valving (16) operable to release an outflow of liquid from the chamber under an influence of the pressure increase as an energy output from the chamber, input valving (136) operable to admit an aqueous fluid into the chamber and a control (28). The control controls operation of the chamber such that sufficient hydrogen containing compound and water molecules are present in the chamber during combustion of the combustible mixture to obtain steam reformation of the hydrogen containing compound to separate hydrogen from the hydrogen containing compound which hydrogen is combusted in the combustible mixture.
