Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an internal combustion engine capable of removing deposits of fuel injection valves by a simple control.SOLUTION: An internal combustion engine comprises: fuel injection valves injecting and supplying a fuel; a deposit determination unit determining whether a deposit adheres to an injection nozzle of each fuel injection valve; and an injection control unit executing a deposit removal fuel injection control to reduce the number of times of fuel injection from each fuel injection valve for a predetermined period and to increase a fuel injection quantity of the fuel injection valve per injection as compared with a case in which it is determined that no deposit adheres to each fuel injection valve if it is determined that the deposit adheres to each fuel injection valve.
