Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an internal combustion engine capable of compactly installing an auxiliary machine and a cylinder block while increasing capacity of an oil separation chamber.SOLUTION: An oil separation chamber 17 protrudingly formed from a side wall 2B of a cylinder block 2 has a linear oil separation chamber 42 extending almost in parallel to a protruding direction of a starter motor 52, and a part of the starter motor 52 is protruded from a flange 51 to a space below the oil separation chamber 42. Accordingly, a protruding amount of the oil separation chamber 17 to the side wall 2B of the cylinder block 2 can be increased, and the starter motor 52 can be installed closer to the side wall 2B of the cylinder block 2.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
