Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an internal combustion engine capable of restraining soot.SOLUTION: An internal combustion engine 1 comprises a piston 10 provided with a combustion chamber 10a opened on a top face side at a top face 11 of the piston, and an injector 4 for injecting fuel to the combustion chamber 10a. The piston 10 includes a protrusion part 9 provided at a center part of the combustion chamber 10a, a lip part 8 constituting an opening edge 13 of the combustion chamber 10a, and a curve part 7 provided to surround a circumference of the protrusion part 9 and guiding fuel spray injected to the lip part 8 from the injector 4 toward the protrusion part 9. An exfoliating step part 19 for exfoliating the fuel spray injected from the injector 4 and flowing toward the protrusion part 9 along the curve part 7 from a wall surface of the protrusion part 9 and forming an air layer between the protrusion part 9 and the fuel spray is provided at a connection part of the protrusion part 9 and the curve part 7.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
