Abstract:
To reduce a detection error of an angle of rotation of a crankshaft while downsizing an internal combustion engine.SOLUTION: An internal combustion engine 1 comprising an engine body comprises: a crankshaft 20 having a flange 25; a one-way clutch which comprises a first race 51a attached to the engine body and a second race 53 attached to the crankshaft, and regulates relative rotation between both races so that the crankshaft rotates to only one direction with respect to the engine body; and an oil seal 60 sealing a clearance between the crankshaft and the engine body so that oil is not leaked from the clearance. The flange of the crankshaft, the one-way clutch and the oil seal are arranged on the same plane which is vertical to a crank axial line. The crankshaft comprises a sensor plate 28, and the sensor plate is arranged in the engine body and on an end side in which the flange of the crankshaft is provided.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
