To provide an internal combustion multistage carbonization furnace which is advantageous for effectively removing a tar content attached to dry distillation chambers.
The internal combustion multistage carbonization furnace is equipped with a dry distillation chamber group comprising dry distillation chambers 2, to which a raw material is fed, installed at multi-stages in a vertical direction and carrying out dry distillation heating treatment in which supply of oxygen is restricted, a surrounding wall 4 for forming a combustion chamber 3 surrounding the dry distillation chamber group from the outside and a dry distilled gas combustion means 5 for leading inflammable dry distilled gas produced from the raw material dry-distilled in the dry distillation chamber 2 to the combustion chamber 3 and heating the combustion chamber 3 by combustion of the led dry distilled gas and heating the dry distillation chamber 2 by heating of the combustion chamber 3. In the internal combustion multistage carbonization furnace, an oxygen-containing gas feed pipe 6 for burning and removing the tar content attached to the dry distillation chamber 2 by feeding an oxygen-containing gas to at least one of the dry distillation chamber 2 for forming the dry distillation chamber group (continued to the comment section) and a blast source 7 for feeding the oxygen-containing gas to an oxygen-containing gas feed pipe 6 when the dry distillation chamber 2 is cleaned are provided.
