PURPOSE: To provide better brake operation feeling by setting a clearance (shoe clearance) between the lining of a brake shoe and a brake drum smaller, by which the operating stroke of the brake pedal at the time of operating a brake is decreased.

CONSTITUTION: The first automatic regulating device 13 which regulates automatically a clearance (shoe clearance) between a pair of brake shoe 3, 4 and a brake drum so as to be kept constant is disposed between the free ends 3c, 4c of a pair of brake shoes 3, 4 near the wheel cylinder for expanding the brake shoe, and the second automatic regulating device 31 which regulates automatically a clearance between the brake shoe 3, 4 and the brake drum so as to be kept constant is disposed between the central parts 3d, 4d of the brake shoes 3, 4 or near them.
