PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an internal gear pump capable of effectively reducing pressure rise and suppressing discharge pulsation while facilitating the design.SOLUTION: The internal gear pump includes an outer rotor having internal teeth, an inner rotor having external teeth which engage with the internal teeth and the number of which is one less than that of the internal teeth, and rotatably arranged inside the outer rotor to form between the outer rotor and itself a plurality of pump chambers to be repetitively expanded and contracted, and a pump housing formed with a case part having a holding recess rotatably holding the outer rotor and a cover part closing the opening of the holding recess, and provided with a suction port for sucking fluid into the pump chamber and a discharge port for discharging the fluid from the pump chamber. In the pump housing, an expansion chamber is provided whose capacity is increased according to pressure rise in the pump chamber in a capacity compression process for the pump chamber to allow part of the fluid to flow thereinto and is reduced according to pressure drop in the pump chamber in a discharge process to allow the fluid flowing thereinto to flow out to the pump chamber.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
