To obtain the subject internal liquid preparation having reduced unpleasant taste attributable to iron, free from a metallic taste of calcium, etc., extremely pleasantly drinkable and useful for prophylax is of anaemia, etc., by compounding an organic iron compound with an organic acid and adjusting pH to a specific range.
This internal liquid preparation is obtained by compounding (A) an organic iron compound (preferably, ferric ammonium citrate) with (B) one or more kinds of organic acids in an amount of 0.05-2.0wt.% so that the organic acid(s) is 3-300 pts.wt. based on the 1 pt.wt. of the iron component in the component A, and the pH is adjusted to 2.5-5.0. Further, it is preferable that (C) 0.001-1.0wt.% of a calcium component is further added so that the content of the calcium component (preferably, calcium glucuronate) is 1-49 pts.wt. based on 1 pt.wt. of iron component in the component A, and the component B is an acid selected from citric acid, malic acid, fumaric acid, tartaric acid, lactic acid and succinic acid.
