To reduce a burden on a subsequent treatment process by eliminating generation of grinding abrasive grain dust in treatment of grinding away scales on the surface of a cast iron pipe after casting.
The tip of a main support shaft 1 cantilevered for insertion in the cast iron pipe 10 after casting supports rotary boards 3 rotatable on the axis of the main support shaft 1. The rotary boards 3 journals, on a plurality of sub support shafts 4 parallel to the main support shaft 1, respective loosely rotatable ringed cutter blades 5 of super-hard steel with a center hole 5b punched in a larger relation to the diameter of the sub support shafts 4. The rotary boards 3 supporting the plurality of ringed cutter blades 5 is connected to a rotating drive 15 drivable in such a rotational frequency as allows the ringed cutters projected under centrifugal force to chip the internal surface of the cast iron pipe. The support shaft 1 can axially reciprocate over a distance conforming to the pipe length of the cast iron pipe 10.
