To provide an internally threaded fishing rod and its production process that secures the smooth fishing line-guiding properties by smoothing the surfaces of the projections in the fishing line guide at least the part coming into contact with the fishing line and, in addition, can maintain inexpensive production cost with the steps simplified.
The core metal 1 for forming a rod tube is wound with a release tape comprising the thick layer parts and the thin layer parts so that the thin layer may be folded and laminated on the adjacent thick layer part to form a recessed part 3 between the thick layer part and the thin layer part. Then, the prepreg 4 for tube rod main body is wound around the outside of the wound-up release tape 2. The resultant prepreg is press-fired to melt the prepreg for forming the rod tube main body so that the recessed part may be impregnated with a part of the prepreg. Then, the core metal and the release tape are removed to form a rod tube that has a fishing line guide projection corresponding to the recessed part 3.
