The interphone apparatus is principally characterized in that a doorphone master unit 6 includes a database section 38 for storing acquired image information of the visitor and visitor information associated with the image information, an image authentication section for collating whether or not the image information photographed by a camera is coincident with the acquired image information, the visitor information is displayed on a display section together with the image information when a result of the collation indicates coincidence, and a voice guidance section of the doorphone master unit 6 allows a speaker 8 to output a voice message denoting disabled unlocking when the result of collation indicates coincidence in a state that the unlocking permission information stored in the database section 38 is set to an unlocking disabled state.
