Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a foul breath remover or a foul breath inhibitor having adequate foul breath removing or inhibitory effect, thus useful for the foods or medicines for the purpose of foul breath removal or inhibition.
CONSTITUTION: The objective foul breath remover or inhibitor containing, as the essential ingredient, the polysaccharides contained in Intocaramos plants (pref. 'jakuchiku' or 'jakuyochiku'), pref. an extract of said plants (esp. extracted with water) and, pref. (B) at least one ingredient selected from Gynostemma pentaphyllum extract and extracts decocted with water from vegetative fibrous matte thereof at the weight matio of such as A=1-10000(pref. 2-1000) pts.wt. per B=100 pts.wt. Combination of the components A and B gives synergistic foul breath removing effect. This remover or inhibitor is effective for either physiological or morbid foul breath or foul breath due to eating, being especially effective for foul breath due to eating.
