Abstract:
To enhance accuracy in failure diagnosis of a cylinder internal pressure sensor.SOLUTION: A failure diagnosis device 100 for a cylinder internal pressure sensor includes a cylinder internal pressure sensor SW6, an engine control section 112, a variable mechanism (intake S-VT23) for varying valve timing of an intake valve 21, and a diagnosis section 111. The diagnosis section includes a determination section (valve timing determination section 1115) for determining that valve close timing of the intake valve reaches specified target timing, and the diagnosis section reads out a signal of the cylinder internal pressure sensor after the determination section determines that the valve close timing reaches the specified target timing, and diagnoses the failure of the cylinder internal pressure sensor on the basis of the read signal of the cylinder internal pressure sensor.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 16
