To provide an inverted pendulum type moving body capable of maintaining a moving body in a consistently inverted state without using any air cylinder when stopping the inversion control of the inverted pendulum type moving body.
Arms 16, 17 are turnably mounted on a frame 10, and the arms 16, 17 are rotatably supported by axles 14a, 15a. By turning the arms 16, 17 by a motor 25, the frame 10 can be elevated/lowered with respect to the axles 14a, 15a. Auxiliary wheels 21-24 fixed to the frame 10 are changed to a state in contact with a floor surface and a state not in contact with the floor surface by elevating/lowering the frame 10. Further, a moving body is moved in the advancing direction by a sliding shaft 27 synchronously with the elevating/lowering operation of a vehicle body placed on the frame 10 by the frame 10.
