To provide an inverter generator mounted on a vehicle driven by an internal combustion engine which prevents overvoltage from being applied to a semiconductor element constituting the inverter generator during the operation of the vehicle.
The inverter generator mounted on a vehicle driven by an internal combustion engine is equipped with an AC generator 2 driven by the internal combustion engine 1 for driving the vehicle, a rectifying circuit 3 for converting the AC output of the AC generator 2 into DC output, and an inverter 4 for converting the output of the rectifying circuit 3 into AC output having a certain frequency. Further, in the generator, resistors Ruv, Rvw, and Rwu for output regulation are connected via switches Suv, Svw, and Swu for output regulation of the inverter between the output terminals of the AC generator 2, and the switches for output regulation of the inverter are closed during the operation of the vehicle and the resistors for output regulation are connected between the output terminals of the generator 2.
