The inverter comprises a rectifying power source 20 for rectifying a voltage of an AC power source 21. The inverter also comprises a first auxiliary diode 31 and a second auxiliary diode 32 disposed in series with the power source 20. The inverter also comprises a smoothing capacitor 10 disposed at a position for receiving the voltage of the power source 20 through the diode 31. The inverter also comprises an auxiliary capacitor 40 disposed at a position for bridging the diodes 31 and 32. The inverter also comprises an inverter unit 50 disposed at a position for bridging the power source 20 and the capacitor 40. The unit 50 is a feedback type inverter unit 50 having a period for inverting its input current.
