Abstract:
PURPOSE: To prevent dew condensation on the surface of an electrode array under high humidity environment and to form a good electrostatic latent image by providing an exothermic resistor layer on an insulating substrate positioned between a large number of ion controlling electrodes of the electrode array.
CONSTITUTION: An exothermic resistor 10 having a prescribed thickness is laminated on the insulating substrate where 1st and 2nd common electrodes 11 and 12 are formed. The exothermic resistor 10 is molded so as to cover the surfaces of the common electrodes 11 and 12 by a means such as coating, etc., after dispersing carbon black in polymide resin. Further, a large number of ion controlling electrodes 6 are laminated on the surface of the exothermic resistor 10 through the insulating layers 16. By energizing the exothermic resistor 10 through the common electrodes 11 and 12 under the high humidity environment so as to generate heat, the occurrence of dew condensation on the insulating substrate of the electrode array 7 can be prevented.
