Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ion exchange chromatography carrier for medical use protein purification which achieves both adsorption/separation performance in a high flow velocity area and clogging-free performance and which has high adsorption capacity.SOLUTION: Provided is an ion exchange chromatography carrier for protein purification comprising a base material consisting essentially of a non-porous synthetic polymer and a graft chain covalently bonded to the base material and having an ion exchange group. The ion exchange chromatography carrier is manufactured by bringing the base material activated by radiation exposure into contact with one or more kinds of reactive monomer emulsified in a poor solvent and forming a graft chain on the base material, at least one kind of reactive monomer having an ion exchange group or an ion exchange group introduction precursor, the ion exchange chromatography carrier being manufactured by introducing the ion exchange group onto the base material at the same time or after the graft chain is formed.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
