Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ion exchange apparatus capable of maintaining the bacterial count in a pressure tank at a level less than water quality standard for the tap water at all times.SOLUTION: An ion exchange apparatus 1 includes: a pressure tank in which an ion exchange resin floor is accommodated; flow channel switching means 3 capable of switching flow channels corresponding to respective modes including a water treatment mode, a regeneration mode, and a washing mode; flow rate measuring means 61; timing means 52 which initiates timing of the time period of passing no water when water passing to the pressure tank is halted; and a controlling unit 51 which switches the flow channel switching means 3 to the flow channel corresponding to the washing mode when the time period of passing no water reaches a pre-specified time. When the water passing to the pressure tank is resumed, the controlling unit 51 calculates the cumulative number of bacteria supposed to have been removed from the pressure tank based on the water passing duration, the instantaneous flow rate measured by the flow rate measuring means 61, and a removal coefficient corresponding to the instantaneous flow rate. When the cumulative number of bacteria reaches a pre-set target cumulative number, the time period of passing no water is reset.
