Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ion exchange membrane that has greatly lower acidity as compared with conventional ion exchange membranes such as Nafion (registered trademark), etc., and a battery including the ion exchange membrane, and also provide a method of manufacturing the ion exchange membrane.SOLUTION: There is provided an ion exchange membrane which includes inorganic particles, and block copolymer containing a hydrophilic first block containing a first monomer unit having an acidic functional group and a hydrophobic second block containing a second monomer unit. The inorganic particles contain plural organic inorganic composite particles in which at least a part of the surfaces of the inorganic particles are coated with the block copolymer so that the first block forms a first coating layer on the surface of the inorganic particle and the second block forms a second coating layer on the first coating layer. There are also provided a battery containing the ion exchange membrane, and a method of manufacturing the ion exchange membrane.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
