Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ion exchange resin capable of effectively absorbing boron from waste water than conventional resins for absorbing boron having a glucamine structure and a manufacturing method therefor.SOLUTION: An ion exchange resin has a repeating unit represented by the formula (I), where n represents an integer of 1 to 6. In a manufacturing method of the ion exchange resin having the repeating unit represented by the formula (I), a styrenic polymer having an amino group as a substituent of a benzene ring or an aminoalkyl group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms is used as raw materials. The manufacturing method comprises the steps of: reacting the styrenic polymer and hydrochloric acid; and reacting the generated chlorine-containing styrenic polymer and at least one kind of saccharide selected from the group consisting of α-D-glucose, α-D-mannose and α-D-arabinose in presence of a reductant.SELECTED DRAWING: None
