Title:
ION FLOW MODIFYING BOARD FOR ELECTROSTATIC PRINTING
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS5593458
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To enable a printing of fine lines, small sized characters, numbers, symbols, figures by a method wherein a number of small holes are arranged on a plurality of rows on an insulative base plate parallel to a printing line, while a center of the small hole is displaced to a printing direction by each of the rows.

CONSTITUTION: Ion flow retracted from the anode 1 to the cathode 2 is modulated under an action of electric field generated in small holes 5 by the selection electric pole 6 and the common electric pole 7. When a voltage of the selection electric pole is made to be higher than the common electric pole 7, an electric field in the small hole 5 acts to cause the ion 3 to be passed therein, and in turn when a voltage of selection electric pole 6 is made to be smaller than that of common electric pole 7, the electric field in the small hole 5 is acted to prevent a passage of the ions 3. The ions 3 passed through the small hole 5 are then moved in the ink mist produced from the mist tank 8, adhered to the ink particles 9 and retracted to the cathode 2. A group of ink particles charged by the ions 3 is adhered to print one original point on the recording paper 10 which is placed in front of the cathode 2 and fed at a specified speed.
