To miniaturize an ion engine concerning an ion jet device, a propulsion device, and an artificial satellite.
This ion jet device includes a vessel enclosing a plasma assembly containing positively charged particles and negatively charged particles and having an opening, an electrode provided at an outside of the opening, an electrode polarity change means changing positive and negative polarity of the electrode. Positively charged particles are jetted out of the opening by setting polarity of the electrode to negative by the electrode polarity change means and negatively charged particles are jetted out of the opening by setting polarity of the electrode to positive by the electrode polarity change means.
