Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ion generator capable of switching over between operations for generating negative ions and for generating negative and positive ions.
SOLUTION: This ion generator is provided with a dielectric 11; a pair of electrodes 12, 13 opposed holding the dielectric 11 in between; a switching transformer 31 applying alternating voltage between a pair of electrodes 12, 13; a diode D1 with an anode connected to a connection point between a secondary coil 13s1 and the electrode 13 and with the cathode side grounded; and a relay 32 connected to both ends of the diode D1. When the relay 32 is put in an ON state, the positive and negative ions are generated, and when the relay 32 is put in an OFF state, the negative ions are generated.
