PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize an ion generator capable of sufficiently enhancing concentration of ions blown out from an air cleaner.SOLUTION: An ion generating part (15) includes: a transformer for transforming a voltage input to a primary side wiring (41) and outputting the transformed voltage to a secondary side wiring (42) connected to a discharge electrode; and a capacitor (Cv) which is connected to the secondary side wiring (42) and adjusts the voltage input from the primary side wiring (41) to the transformer.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
